How does Read and Trade Work?

First you list the books that you do have in the "Books I Have" list of your "My Books Page". Based on the current price of your book on Amazon, they will potentially be worth between 1 and 3 points. In order to get those points you have to trade your book with someone who wants them. Since we gave you, one point for free, you can go and find a book that costs one point and get it or you can wait till someone wants one of your books to accumulate more points. To get a book you want, list it on your "Books I Want" section and at the bottom of your account page will be "Book Matches" where you can view people who have the book you want and see if you would like to trade based on how many points and condition. Once you find a book to trade or someone wants to trade with you, click on make a trade and the shipper will print out your shipping address, and mail it. The other user will receive points immediately.

What if someone say’s their trading a book and then doesn’t?

If someone agrees to a trade but doesn’t, there is a button on the "My Trades" page that you can press and automatically get your points back. You can only press this button 5 times a year though. If the same user keeps causing people to press this button, then a warning will appear on their profile alerting other people that that user has a tendency to not ship. If it persists and accumulates to 5 times then that users account will be cancelled.

If I agree to a trade, how do I get my points?

If you agree to a trade, you will get your points automatically right away. This is under the assumption that you will be shipping out the book as you had agreed. How are the points determined for my book? The points for your book are determined by the current price of the book on Amazon. If its between 0 and 10 dollars it gets 1 point. If it’s between 10 and 20 dollars it gets 2 points and if its 20 dollars or more it gets 3 points.

How much does Read and Trade cost?

$0.60 per month or $6.99 a year!

Do I have to pay for shipping?

If a book is being sent to you, you do not have to pay for shipping. However, if you are sending out a book you do have to pay for shipping. To make this more convenient for you, we have a shipping calculator that estimates the cost of how much the shipping would cost to trade with a specific user. Also, the user will be able to print out the other users shipping address to have when shipping out the book.

I don’t see a book I want, how come?

If you don’t see a book you want, it’s because no one has offered it yet. If you put it on your "books I want" list, when it becomes available it will show up on your book matches. So keep checking back!

How long does it take for me to get a book?

It takes usually on average 1-2 weeks to receive a book that has been traded.

How come I get a free point?

There aren’t that many books on here, how come?

There aren’t many books on here because we just launched our site recently, the more people that use our site, the more book’s that become available. If there is a book you want and we don’t have it, list it on the "Books I Want" section. Once it becomes available it will be under your "Book Matches", so keep checking back!
